Battery passport by 18 February 2027: data record, QR code, reference page

From 18 February 2027, EV batteries, LMT batteries (e.g. e-bikes, e-scooters) and industrial batteries above 2 kWh need an electronic battery passport. Battery Identity takes over your battery data from Excel or CSV, requests missing details from suppliers and publishes the passport with a QR code.

Mandatory from 18 February 2027

Who is affected?

Manufacturers and importers placing EV, LMT or industrial batteries above 2 kWh on the EU market. Who exactly is affected and what applies is explained in Battery passport requirements.

How it works

  1. Download the template. Get the data template for the battery passport and enter your batteries.
  2. Import with a check run. The check run lists error rows with their row number before anything is saved.
  3. Request data from suppliers. Collect missing details through a supplier link; the supplier does not need an account.
  4. Publish the reference page. Publish the public passport page with a QR code (PNG/SVG) and your hosted reference page.

Selection criteria for a solution are in Battery passport software: what it must do.
